I’d been looking for an upgrade from my Browning B25 A1 for several years – I knew pretty much what I wanted, but was unable to find it! Until, that is, very recently, when it turned up in Giles Marriott’s gun shop. This is a Leige custom – built B25, which is absolutely stunning in appearance, handles like a dream, and oozes quality. The stock, though showing wonderful figure, was entirely wrong for me, so the length, cast, and drop at comb and heel have been adjusted to fit me perfectly. The fitting process, carried out by both Giles and Julian, was thorough and very professionally done, and puts to shame the so – called gun fitting process offered by some other gunsmiths in years gone by. Once this was done, the result is superb, and the gun feels absolutely right when mounted. Having since had a couple of sessions on the clay ground, I know I’m going to love owning and using this gun. I am massively impressed by the atmosphere created by Giles and his staff. The whole process was genuinely friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. One of those rare occasions when shopping is sheer pleasure! Many thanks to Giles, Julian and Sam. I much regret that these were my first visits to Hunter’s Lodge – they won’t be my last!

Just brought my first gun here thanks to the lovely staff. On a budget I went because I'd seen one on Gun Trader that looked ideal and withing my price range. Unfortunately due to my ridiculously long arms the butt length wasn't quite right, but instead of trying to talk me into spending more money on something else, they found a much cheaper solution to extende this butt to suit me. A great little shop, wonderful staff, and when it's time for an upgrade I can't see why I wouldn't be back.

Popped in to the shop yesterday and was brilliant as always. Really well looked after, fantastic experience being fitted up with new gun and very well looked after on my trade in. Highly recommend going here and will be visiting again in the near future.

Simply the best gun shop I have ever visited. I spotted an interesting Browning B26 on their superb website, and I was expecting a well worn example for the modest price. I was amazed to find a little used custom 'Millenial' model, fully hand made and engraved. I of course bought it, and wasn't offended when my old Winchester 101 wasn't wanted in part exchange. The stock in this shop has to be seen to be believed! There were guns in every price range, every calibre from 4 bore down. Crossover stocks? Probably 8 or 10. Amazing! The staff are very helpful and laid back. I would strongly recommend them.

A great place with excellent customer service. They have a large selection of guns of all bore sizes and all at competitive prices. I was looking for a Miroku or Browning 12 bore and they had a great selection at all price points. Julian gives great advice and does not push you to buy anything. However if you do want one they are willing to keep it to one side for as long as it takes for your licence to come… and that can take a long time at the moment…. Over 17 months! They also have some lovely shotgun slips and cartridges bags that they have made locally. Cannot recommend them highly enough well worth the trip.

I was working not far from Theddingworth today, I found a gun on the Giles Marriott website ahead of my visit and went to Hunters Lodge on my way home. I was a little daunted by the price of the top end guns on the website, and was expecting a rather snooty response to my interest in a relatively budget priced gun. I couldn't have been more wrong, I was welcomed at the door by a friendly black Cocker and a welcoming, "hello can I help" (I don't mean the dog could talk, that would be customer service! ) I explained what I was looking for, the gun was produced, I was really pleased with the quality and price. Once the transaction was complete, including careful guidance as to informing my local firearms department of my purchase, I was made a cup of tea and spent an excellent ten minutes looking at some lovely and interesting guns. I was assured the service was the same from a few hundred to thousands for a gun, and I am sure that's true!

Recently traded a gun at this gun shop and i cannot praise the people concerned enough.I have been wanting to return to an over and under shotgun, preferably Browning, and had been looking for a used left hand B525. I saw just the gun for me at Giles Marriott and although it is quite a journey for me, Sheffield to Leicester, it was worth my time. I was treated like a long standing friend and nothing was too much trouble for them. I chose a gun, and was helped with a fitting. I was concerned about some surface scratches to the wood but was told everything would be sorted. True to their word, my new gun looked as good as new. Absolutely brilliant service. All gun shops should be as good as this. Simple truth, if you are looking to buy a new or used gun then you really ought to give these guys a look. Free fitting and alterations with every gun sold. Who else does that. 1st class. Will definitely visit again and thoroughly recommend them to everyone.

I'd recommend to anyone looking for a modern or antique shotgun to visit Giles Marriott in Theddingworth, Leicestershire. Julian and Sam were very helpful as I was a first time shotgun buyer, they helped fit me to the correct shotgun, talked me through all available options and there was lots of choice. They also stock plenty of accessories such as cartridges, gun slips, clothing & cleaning equipment etc...A very personable service and I'll continue buying any further shooting supplies from them.

When I entered the shop I was expecting just another gun shop. The lodge is beautiful great layout and loads of guns to choose from. They were so helpful and great knowledge, they helped me pick out my first gun even helped me with the gun fitting. I would highly recommend them and will definitely be going back.

Appalling customer service from the owner. I brought a B25 B2G from Giles Marriott and travelled 3 hours to get a gun fit. I was originally dealing with Julian who was the only positive in my experience. The understanding was, all adjustments would be able to be done to the original stock. Unfortunately this wasn't the case and they replaced the stock with with another without showing me the wood before. (Original stock pictured above the other below) Most people I would imagine would not be happy with the finish I certainly wasn't and expressed it was was not acceptable. Giles (The owner) spoke to me and became very aggressive towards a legal approach on his rights and informed me that the last person who did this got nowhere, says to me I'm not the first victim! I had to wait months to get my money back and they still retained £200 for the privilege. Not my best experience with a gun shop, needless to say I will not be returning.
